One of the perils of living in a house that’s almost 100 years old is the constant need for maintenance and upkeep. I dunno, old houses are charming and stuff, but they are a serious pain in the ass.

Each winter, another section of steam pipes in our basement will burst, and yesterday we had the bad fortune of having not one but two sections of pipes burst. Which means a flooded basement. Which means pokey heat in our already drafty-slash-chilly house. Oh well.

Luckily, the heating-slash-plumbing guys were able to come out to the Busy-Lazy shack and patch things up, but they are just patches (meaning they could fail again), and we’ll have to replace the pipes altogether when the weather warms a bit.

The lazy pups are definitely feeling the chill, in and out of the house.

There’s a distinct possibility that the boy and I are coming down with colds. Ugh. Yuck. Barf.
