After the kiddie birthday party, we took the scenic route home, which meant driving across the George Washington Bridge. Traffic going uptown wasn’t too bad, but it was a mess going downtown. Later, I saw on the news that there was a water main break at 92nd Street, which brought southbound traffic to a standstill.
We went to Mitzuwa in Fort Lee, which is the largest and best Japanese market in the area. It actually reminds me of the Asian markets in San Francisco, which is to say it’s really good. As always, the store was packed. There’s a knickknack shop next door to the supermarket, so we went looking for some goodies for the gift bags for the boy’s birthday party next week.
We gawked at all of the cool toys and other expensively price but kind of junky products. I got a cool Totoro t-shirt and the boy got a cool badtz maru winter hat.
